The Christ Book: The Annunciation

The Annunciation

Luke 1: 26-33, 38
26. And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27. To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
32. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33. And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

38. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

-----
----------------------------------------------------------

Heavenly Father planned for Jesus Christ to be born into an earthly family. Joseph and Mary, the man and woman chosen to love and care for Jesus on earth, loved Heavenly Father and kept His commandments.

Mary was surprised and a little worried when she saw the angel, but she was willing to do whatever Heavenly Father wanted her to do.

Joseph was a righteous man chosen by Heavenly Father to marry Jesus’ mother and love and care for Jesus and give him an earthly family. An angel also visited Joseph before Jesus was born to tell him that Mary would have the Son of God.

The name Jesus means Savior. Jesus Christ would save all of us from our sins and help us return to live with Heavenly Father forever.
1 Nephi 11:13-23
13 And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the great city of Jerusalem, and also other cities. And I beheld the city of Nazareth; and in the city of Nazareth I beheld a virgin, and she was exceedingly fair and white.

14 And it came to pass that I saw the heavens open; and an angel came down and stood before me; and he said unto me: Nephi, what beholdest thou?

15 And I said unto him: A virgin, most beautiful and fair above all other virgins.

16 And he said unto me: Knowest thou the condescension of God?

17 And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things.

18 And he said unto me: Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son of God, after the manner of the flesh.

19 And it came to pass that I beheld that she was carried away in the Spirit; and after she had been carried away in the Spirit for the space of a time the angel spake unto me, saying: Look!

20 And I looked and beheld the virgin again, bearing a child in her arms.

21 And the angel said unto me: Behold the Lamb of God, yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father! Knowest thou the meaning of the tree which thy father saw?

22 And I answered him, saying: Yea, it is the love of God, which sheddeth itself abroad in the hearts of the children of men; wherefore, it is the most desirable above all things.

23 And he spake unto me, saying: Yea, and the most joyous to the soul.

EEEK! Friend has Bed Bugs

So a Friend of mine has Bed bugs Promised i would research repellants for her since she is busy bagging clothes and bedding and throwing them outside and doing mass amounts of laundry.
NOTE: Natural ingredients break down quickly and need to be repeated frequently
Natural Cures for Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are one of the most resistant creatures to the many varied attempts to destroy their presence, making home and natural cures pretty slim. Bed bugs are known to outlive temperatures reaching 100 degrees for a short period of time and can survive being placed in the freezer. Additionally, they are known to live without eating for up to one year. In the earliest stages of an infestation, a homeowner may learn how to control their numbers by using some of the natural suggestions listed below:
a) Black Walnut:
The National Park Service suggests that using the leaf teas consisting of black walnut provide an astringent effect, as well as serves as a decent insecticide against bed bugs.
b) Herbal Approaches:
There is a range of natural cures that people have used to treat their bed bug problem with varying degrees of success. A few suggestions is to try include spraying lavender, thyme, tea tree, or eucalyptus on bed linens, clothes and in other locations where people sleep in the house.
c) Food-Grade Diatomaceous Earth:
While the exact bed bug population is not solved, the number of insects has been known to decrease when using food-grade diatomaceous earth as a repellent for bed bugs.
d) Boric Acid:Which I have been told is 20 Mule Teem Borax
It is suggested to spread boric acid powder about the places where bed bugs choose to frequent, feed, and hide. This natural cure should never come in direct contact with a mattress or box spring. This remedy is often used to control the migration of bed bugs in a home.
e) Steam Treatment:
To eliminate bed bugs from mattresses and additional upholstered items, some pest control professionals will use stream to naturally treat a sleeping area. As it brings about limited effectiveness, this method has shown promise when involving less than an inch of penetration. Some people have purchased small steam cleaners to treat their bedding.
f) Clothes Dryer:
Placing infested linens within a clothes dryer and heating the items for more than 20 minutes is said to kill bed bugs.
g) Natural Heat:
In cities where the climate reaches extremely high temperatures, hanging linens in the sun will kill attached bed bugs who falter in the extreme heat of the sun.
h) Botanical Insecticides [5]:
Insecticides that contain natural pyrethrins are known to serve as a temporary natural cure, as the insects are repelled by this remedy and become ineffective for a short period of time. Unfortunately, natural pyrethrins quickly break down and are unable to provide the necessary bed-bug fighting power that lasts long enough to wipe out the entire population.

Herbalix Restoratives for body

Rubbing alcohol works very well. Kills them & eggs immediately when sprayed directly on them. Of course if there has not been time to kill all of them. Rubbing alcohol can be sprayed on underwear, bedding and in hair to help prevent attacks while sleeping.
Mainly the area within 5 feet of the bed is where they nest. So attack those areas heaviest and attack the smallest cracks in wood & under furniture also

baby powder”…It has silica in it. Siliac is a fossil (found in playground sand)cuts the little bedbugs in half like fiber glass.
lavender and thyme
Vasaline the legs of your bed or put legs in paper cups filled with mineral oil.
Try taking a max recommended dose of vitamin B-6 each day for a month

Here’s a novel sleeping defense: a mosquito net over the bed! If you tuck the long sides under your newly-heat-treated bedding, any marauders will likely end up on the outside of the fine netting, where you can see and destroy them in the morning!-
organic olive & clove oil combo
Also, since they are attracted to the carbon dioxide you exhale all night, try keeping a fan blowing on you at a medium speed to disperse the CO2. try sleeping with at least a low light on, and wearing a sleep mask; the bed bugs don’t like to come out in the light unless they are starving .

Even more detailed info here however it seems to repeat alot of what I already have.

If you find something else that works that is not mentioned, Please share and let us know. I hope something on here will be affordable enough for you and provide you relief

Been busy and stuff

Well its been awhile since I posted. I do not really have an excuse. I just have been shopping. Having a PTA meeting. Having Church craft events. Church cooking events. Watching Hulu and playing games and keeping in touch on Facebook. I do not know where the time has gone. Oh and my husband started pinterest so I have been letting him have lots of computer time. I also been sick which I think might actually be constipation and dehydration, most likely lack of exercise and weight gain as well from eating tons of candy.
Today my church is having a Chili Brownie cook off. I am not looking forward to going because I have been suffering from a stomach ache anytime I eat something even slightly spicy. The other day on my Dragon talon (sushi) was very flavorful, had hardly any spice to it was soo good but still upset my tummy. This could also be because I needed more water too though. I know tonight I do not want chili.

The Christ Book: Christ’s Birth Foretold

Christs Birth Foretold

The birth of Jesus Christ was an event that was planned and anticipated even before the creation of the Earth. All of the Old Testament prophets predicted the coming of the Savior and His birth into mortality.
Throughout the Old Testament, the practice of sacrifice was diligently followed, and that practice was in anticipation of the Savior’s sacrifice for us at the conclusion of His mortal life.

At the same time the prophets of the Old Testament were predicting the birth of the Savior, prophets in the New World, as reported in the Book of Mormon, also foretold His birth and His mortal mission. One of these prophets was Samuel the Lamanite. Samuel not only prophesied the actual occurrence of His birth, but also told of the signs by which the birth of Jesus in Judea would be made known to the Western world.
Video Samuel prophesies about Jesus being born

---------------------------------------------------------------

Helaman 14:2-6
2. And behold, he said unto them: Behold, I give unto you a sign; for five years more cometh, and behold, then cometh the Son of God to redeem all those who shall believe on his name.
3. And behold, this will I give unto you for a sign at the time of his coming; for behold, there shall be great lights in heaven, insomuch that in the night before he cometh there shall be no darkness, insomuch that it shall appear unto man as if it was day.
4. Therefore, there shall be one day and a night and a day, as if it were one day and there were no night; and this shall be unto you for a sign; for ye shall know of the rising of the sun and also of its setting; therefore they shall know of a surety that there shall be two days and a night; nevertheless the night shall not be darkened; and it shall be the night before he is born.
5. And behold, there shall a new star arise, such as one as ye never have beheld; and this also shall be a sign unto you.
6. And behold this is not all, there shall be many signs and wonders in heaven.

Make two column headings on the chalkboard: “Signs of Christ’s Birth” and “Signs of Christ’s Death.” Write all of the signs of Jesus Christ’s birth and death that were discussed in this lesson on separate pieces of paper, and mix them up in a small container. Let the children take turns picking one, reading it, and placing it under one of the two columns.
Great lights in heaven
A day and a night and a day as if there were no night
A new star
Many signs and wonders in heaven
Sun, moon, and stars shall be darkened
No light for three days
Thunderings and lightnings for many hours
Earth shall shake and tremble
Solid mass of rocks shall be broken up
Great tempests
Mountains laid low
Valleys become mountains
Highways broken up
Cities become desolate
Graves shall be opened and yield up their dead

SONG:Samuel Tells of The Baby Jesus
1. Said Samuel, “Within five years
A night will be as day,
And Baby Jesus will be born
In a land far, far away.”
Hosanna! Hosanna!
Oh, let us gladly sing.
How blessed that our Lord was born;
Let earth receive her King!
2. Across the sea, in Bethlehem,
Lord Jesus came to earth
As Samuel had prophesied,
And angels sang His birth.

Going to study Veganism; what I have learned so far

My Step daughter that I raised from the age of 5 till 12 is coming to visit us for Christmas, we hope. She has made a lifestyle choice when she moved in with her mother to become a vegan. She has refused to talk to her doctor about the foods she needs to eat to meet nutritional requirements. Its sad here I am a with a background in Nutrition and its all based on the Food pyramid that has meat and dairy in it and I am totally at loss to veganism. As a child I lived as a vegetarian for three years and my mom refused to let us kids have refined sugar. I am a pro at making oatmeal burgers, mushroom burgers, cheesy vegatable casserole but every single one of them contain dairy or eggs. I have been able to give advice for celiac or gluten allergies but again and am at a loss on responsible veganism.
I plan to the research and find some good recipes so while my daughter is here we can eat good quality and healthy meals together and maybe in the process I can learn and share the proper diet (meaning healthy)of veganism.

In one blog I read:
Almost all foods except for alcohol, sugar, and fats provide some protein. Vegan sources include: lentils, chickpeas, tofu, peas, peanut butter, soy milk, almonds, spinach, rice, whole wheat bread, potatoes, broccoli, kale...
For example, if part of a day's menu included the following foods, you would meet the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein for an adult male:
1 cup oatmeal, 1 cup soy milk
2 slices whole wheat bread, 1 bagel
2 Tablespoons peanut butter
1 cup vegetarian baked beans
5 ounces tofu, 2 Tablespoons of almonds
1 cup broccoli, and 1 cup brown rice.

You most likely have to make your own breads and bagels with your egg substitutes. I know here in Alaska it would not be easily bought unless you wanted to pay outrageous prices.
I found a nice vegan pamphlet

Wow in another site I was reading the people who are not animal conscious go on the Vegan diet because its reffered to as the "Skinny diet" It says there is fads that an adult could handle but a teenager or growing child could cause major disasters and deficiencies trying them. Like for instance while on a vegan diet you should never do a cleanse and Never fast. If you are getting headaches you should seek a nutritionalist immediately. Web MD seems to me to be very opposed to vegan-ism and is no help for a teenage child who is most likely gonna be adamant in following it whether its some fad to loose weight or is animal conscientious.

Oh great on here http://thevegandiet.blogspot.com/ I find now there are two types of Veganism one of them called RAW so I guess I better have hubby call her and make sure we know exactly what kind she is on. Here on this website it talks of a macroiotic diet.
Some macrobiotic diets fall into the vegan category. Macrobiotic diets restrict not only animal products but also refined and processed foods, foods with preservatives, and foods that contain caffeine or other stimulants.

Well its really late at night and I need some rest. Hope to do more studies tomorrow or You know what studies are making me not like this diet they have extreme health warnings and say its a risk so I am just gonna start looking at Recipes with the ingredients suggested to replace vitamins that are normally lost from not eating meat or dairy and one of them which I know to be very important for sleep functions and depression they say is impossible to get Vitamin B12 and they are very expensive supplement but even the supplement can not be taken without breaking there standards. So do not know what to do about that.

Sleepovers Slumber parties- Good or bad?

I was reading a blog by an LDS member and in there it had stated that one of the general conferences there was a warning about sleepovers.I researched the talk and it was given by Larry R. Larence Of the Seventy. Yet so many still continue to do it without any help of other parents. They can keep up with spunky children who can go without sleep for days and go to bed before the children leaving them unattended to be able to persuade each other to do who knows what. The things that an occur I will not write on here because I do not want to be the blame for giving the children the ideas. So many children are told to do research on what not to do and are so detailed it plants the idea for children to try it. This also occurs at Sleepovers from a well meaning parent trying to give guidelines of what is expected. What one child may have done the other child might not even dreamed of yet. Children do not always discuss everything they have done with all there friends only the friends they fill will be excepting of it, or can be persuaded to except it.

Is there anything wrong with having sleepovers?
May I express my personal warning about a practice that is common in many cultures. I am referring to sleepovers, or spending the night at the home of a friend. As a bishop I discovered that too many youth violated the Word of Wisdom or the law of chastity for the first time as part of a sleepover. Too often their first exposure to pornography and even their first encounter with the police occurred when they were spending the night away from home.

AHHH FRUIT FLIES!!!

Ok I have not stated this yet with this being a new blog and all, but my family own some pets. We own Two African Clawed Frogs ( which by the way are extremely cute and very spoiled.)We love these frogs so much we have tried breeding guppies ( which failed we think because our water is extremely soft or the tank continually crashed).we tried breeding worms which ended up to our Fruit fly manifestation. The fruit flies have ended up all over my house. I have been studying up on natural ways to get rid of them. I can not spray because of the Frogs and remaining guppies that are now pets too, even though they are ugly, no color, mosquito kind, but have great personalities, My favorite being "bubbles," a huge, round, egg laden one.

Here are the ideas that seem the best to me from all my fruit fly research.....
1. Clean and scrub kitchen using FLY LADY CONTROL JOURNAL or my own cleaning list for Kitchen
2. Fruit Fly traps using saran wrap and a container with Apple Cider Vinegar or a wine vinegar. Poke small hole in the plastic and I guess they get in somehow?? Or using a jar and same liquids make a cone with a piece of paper putting it in .
3.Boiling and spraying these ingrediants around the house.Basil, Cinnamon, Lemongrass, or lemon peel
4. Plugging in your vacuum or your hairdryer and chasing them around them house sucking them up for the pure satisfaction.
Of course there were many many other ideas but these one were the best for me.

Oh yah dont forget to store your bread in the fridge or the microwave and other foods they seem to attract to in the stove while in this process so they will go to your traps. :)

Farmer boy colored page

I loved this pic and thought it would look great as a victorian style card if someone wanted to do that but I have no idea how. I colored it anyway and thought the boy looked like he was thinking of food because of his hand on his tummy. My favorite from a pumpkin is pie.

However At the beginning of year No matter where I am at in the Bible I will begin the B.O.M. again and hope to read both getting two scriptures a day. Most likely do one in the morning and one in the evening. I left off today knowing that Abram and Sarai will get a name change tomorrow.

Scarecrow GIF

Photobucket

He Needs to be put on a white background until i get him touched up :)

I am so incredibly bored- Time to fling (purge)

I am so bored and I do not want to clean. There is ALWAYS something to do in my home. My family makes sure of that. I have been threatening to throw there stuff away for so long I think they think I am lying and I am not actually going to do it, because even my husband continues to leave his stuff laying around the house and lays on the couch/his bed THE ENTIRE time he is home. Last week I cleared off the kitchen counter and threw stuff away that did not go in there and he was sooo mad. I told him I had been asking him to put his stuff away for 2 months if it was not gone that was not my problem. He began to yell at me and I told him yep lets get all mad at me over stuff you did not find important. Well Today he is going to get extremely mad. SO much so I am expecting retaliation. You see for over a month I gather up all the stuff in the living room and put in rubbermaid totes so he can carry it around and put his stuff away or take it downstairs and throw it in one of the fourteen rubbermaid totes he has downstairs but he keeps telling me he will do but another day. When I ask him what day he will have it done by he refuses to answer. The times he has given me when he has already came and gone.
My home really makes me miserable. We have seen a counselor who gave up trying to counsel us because he said Jt will need to change or I will have to learn to be happy living in a disgusting cluttered home.
I am constantly praying for help, I am constantly fasting to feel like I love him. I have spoken to my bishop and the bishop supposedly spoke to him about it. he works on little changes for three whole days then "poof" back to a couch decoration.
Its seems to really be nagging me when we get lessons about how our home should be temples and places of safety and refuge. I can not walk around my home barefoot and my shins have bruises all over them. The church members come in and ask me where does this where does that go when they come over to help but in all honestly I do not know because I am sick of putting it away over and over and over again. Since the bishop says its workable because JT is working on it ( when he did for three whole days) I am gonna do it my way. He rebuys everything and does not look for it, so everything is just going into the trash.
Ok I threw a bunch of stuff out in the tote mostly magazines and kept a few items I did not have the heart to throw away because I was afraid it might be crossing a line. :(

Transformers: Dark side of the moon

Today I watched the movie Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon
There was a few characters missing from the original movies and they managed to write it into the story line. The action was good when it finally reached that point otherwise it started out super slow. This one was definitely wrote for the Men with nice expensive cars, new attractive girlfriend, and brief Bathroom humor.

It made my daughter antsy and full of hype. She could not sit still and kept getting closer and closer to the T.V. until we reminded her to sit down. She really liked it.

Butte Collecting wild sage

This is a picture of wild sage. Its an amazing sea-green color. The hike was steep and I had to take several breaks to get up that hill. I could really begin to feel just how out of shape I am. I read somewhere that to burn off 1 M&M you had to walk the length of a football field, I asked my husband, " How many M&M's do you think I burned off?" He says, " Oh hunny, we probably only burned off two." :( Darn I was hoping to get a bag of M&M's
